Chi-Hua Chien

Chi-Hua Chien is a co-founder and Managing Partner of Goodwater, the world’s largest consumer-tech focused venture capital firm, managing over $4B of assets and an early + venture growth stage portfolio of 80 companies in 19 countries around the world. The mission of Goodwater is to empower exceptional entrepreneurs everywhere to change the world for good.

Prior to starting Goodwater, Chi-Hua was a General Partner at Kleiner Perkins, where he led early and growth-stage investments in consumer tech platform companies, including Chegg, Inspirato, Klout, Spotify, and Twitter. He started his venture career at Accel where he discovered Facebook for the firm’s Series A investment and worked on investments in Trulia and AdMob.

Before becoming a venture capitalist, Chi-Hua was an early employee or co-founder of four startups. Chi-Hua fell in love with startups at Stanford University, where he earned four degrees and still teaches classes in the Engineering School.
